THIS BLOG HAS BEEN RETIRED. I'm still going to be keeping it up here, though-- there's some pretty cool old stuff on it. That said, if you want to keep up to date with me, please go to www.georgeoconnorbooks.com.

Zeus at Boing Boing

Cory Doctorow has posted a really wonderful review of Zeus: King of the Gods at the online superblog collective, Boing Boing. I must say, it's pretty exciting to have been featured there. Please give a click!

Cartoonists in Italy!

In one of my more unusual media appearances, this past weekend La Repubblica, which is Italy's #1 newspaper, ran an article in its weekend supplement on the hotbed of cartoonists living in Brooklyn. Aside from myself, also featured were studiomates Dean Haspiel, Joe Infurnari, Kat Roberts, Becky Cloonan, Simon Fraser and Laura Lee Gulledge, as well as such living legends as Art Speigelman and Joe Simon, co-creator of Captain America, amongst others. The whole feature was illustrated with panache by the stately photos of Seth Kushner, photographer of cartoonists par excellence. Click over to the Graphic NYC blog to see a posting of the article, or follow this link to see the actual magazine (the article begins on page 64-65),

Nothing to see here!

This Is Why it Pays to Have a Good Editor, part the second

A while ago I did a post about why great editors are a good thing to have, and here's another reason-- They do interviews that thousands of people will read and say nice things about you. Click here, pleasely, to read an interview at Comic Book Resources with First Second editorial Team Supreme Mark Siegel and Calista Brill.

In addition to saying nice things about Olympians, they also give some shouts out to the new books by my studio neighbors Leland Purvis and Mike Cavallaro. Please give it a read!
