Cover Sketches

So here's something. Above are the newly approved sketches for what will be the covers of the first two books in the Olympians series, Zeus: Father of the Gods and Athena: Grey-Eyed Goddess. I'm hoping to take you readers through the steps involved in creating these covers, from sketch to final finished artwork. Watch this space for finished pencils, inks, colors, etc.

Cool Quote: Neat things I've read or heard that are stuck in my head.

"Zeus is never ridiculous, because his dignity is of no concern to him."-- Roberto Calasso, The Marriage of Cadmus and Harmony

If you're going to read one book on Greek mythology as an adult, this is the one. That above quote so perfectly sums up the attitude of the ancient Greeks to their preeminent god, and happens to be a pretty nice piece of advice to anyone who takes themselves too seriously. My own depiction of the king of the gods has drawn a lot of inspiration from that one sentence.
