Let there be Color...




And, finally the color covers. These may not be the final colors, but this is how I submitted them for first approval to the publisher. Whaddaya think?

George—great to see two pieces from start to finish! And re-drawing Zeus was definitely the right move. How much say do your editor have in these? And what tools do you use for inking?

As for the redraw, that was all me. I did that before anyone in an editorial capacity saw the pencils (in fact I think I never submitted the first set of pencils, period).

Inking, I'm pretty low tech-- just some cheapy nibs for the line (don't recall the brand) , and I pool the blacks in with a number 7 brush.
